Airports
The Castlegar Municipal Airport (YCG) is only 30 minutes from Red Mountain. It is serviced by Air Canada Jazz with daily flights from Calgary and Vancouver. Car rentals are available from the airport through National (1-800-CARRENT) and Budget (1-800-268-8900).

The Spokane International Airport (GEG) is a full-service airport with daily flights from most US carriers. The drive from Spokane to Red Mountain is an easy 2.5 hours along principal highways, with no mountain passes to overcome. Car rentals from the Spokane Airport are available through Dollar Rent-A-Car (509-456-3007), Avis (1-800-230-4898), Hertz (1-800-654-3131) and Thrifty (1-800-THRIFTY).

When making arrangements for your departure from the Spokane International Airport, please be aware that the border into the United States does not open until 6am on weekdays and 8am on weekends.

Driving Direction to Red Mountain and Rossland
Red Mountain is located in the southern interior of the province of British Columbia. It sits just 10 minutes north of the Canada/US border and only 5 minutes from the quaint town of Rossland.

The resort of Red Mountain is located on BC provincial highway 3B. Its close proximity to the highway means no gnarly access road! Regional Road Conditions are updated daily by the BC Ministry of Highways.

From Calgary, Alberta

Go West on TRANS CANADA 1 through Banff to provincial Hwy 93. Go South on Hwy 93 through Cranbrook to provincial Hwy 3. Go Southwest on Hwy 3 through Creston to Hwy 3A. At Trail, turn left onto Hwy 22 to Rossland and Red Mountain.

From Vancouver, British Columbia

Take TRANSCANADA 1 eastbound to Hope. At Hope, follow Hwy 3 through Princeton, Osoyoos, and Grand Forks. At Nancy Greene Lake, approximately 45 minutes past Grand Forks, turn right onto Hwy 3B. Follow Hwy 3B until you reach Red Mountain or Rossland.

From Spokane, Washington

From the airport, follow signs for eastbound Interstate 90. Exit the I-90 at exit #281 (US 395N – Division Street). Drive north along Division Street through Spokane. Continue to follow Hwy. 395 N through Chewelah and Colville. At Kettle Falls, turn right onto Hwy. 25 N. Continue along Hwy 25 through Northport to the Patterson BC customs office. In Canada, Hwy 25 becomes Hwy 22. Follow Hwy 22 until you reach Rossland or Red Mountain.

Border Crossings

Non-Canadian residents will require the following to enter Canada at any border crossing:

  • Proof of citizenship (eg. birth certificate)*
  • Travel Visas (for travelers arriving from destinations other than the United States)

*A valid passport meets both the photo and citizenship requirements.
The closest border crossing to Red Mountain is at Patterson, British Columbia / Frontier, Washington. This border crossing will be open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to traffic entering Canada or the United States
